Hand Made in the Kanade shop in Kutchan, Hokkaido, Japan.

Made of Hokkaido Birch slats, filled with resin.

The birch I chose had many large knots and holes in them. Perfect for filling with resin to showcase their beauty!

The name Gendou玄洞 means:
玄 - 'gen' - mysterious, black, profound
洞 - 'dou' - hollow, cavity, hole, cave
